Targets to Functional Films

Inside a vacuum chamber, ions in a plasma strike a sputtering target. Atoms are released, travel through the vacuum, and rearrange on glass, wafers, or other substrates to form functional films only nanometres or micrometres thick.

Through melting, purification, processing, and forming, high-purity metals become the foundation of targets, evaporation materials, and advanced alloys.

Rare-earth and high-purity anhydrous chlorides serve as raw materials, dopant sources, flux components, reactants, or precursors. In CVD and other vapour-deposition routes, they are converted into uniform, dense, precision film structures.
